Episode Summary

London 1891. Vanessa Ives and her colleague, renowned explorer Sir Malcolm Murray, recruit marksman Ethan Chandler to undertake a job with them. They try to recover Sir Malcom’s daughter from a group of vampires. They’re not successful, but do recover an evil-looking creature which is covered in Egyptian hieroglyphs. Sir Malcolm enlists the help of foppish Egyptologist, Mr. Lyle, to decipher the hieroglyphs and a young scientist, Victor Frankenstein, to find any other clues in the gruesome body. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the grisley murder of a young mother and daughter who have been torn apart.
